Sarens is proud to announce the successful completion of a specialised transport project for NYK at the ICO Southern Inlet Terminal in Zeebrugge, Belgium. The project involved the rental of 10 axle lines for the efficient discharging and re-loading of train frames, further solidifying Sarens' reputation as a global leader in crane rental services and heavy lifting solutions.
Our team was tasked with the critical operation of handling large and heavy train frames, utilizing 10 axle lines of Self-Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT). Despite a short turnaround time, with planning commencing while the vessel was already loaded at the other end, our team coordinated the logistics seamlessly to ensure the project's timely execution.
Transporting the equipment from Wolvertem required two truckloads, with setup taking just two hours. The project faced a unique challenge due to the height of the items being transported, which were at 1,15 meters—a height theoretically too low for an SPMT. However, our team adeptly adapted and executed the transport successfully, demonstrating our problem-solving capabilities and technical expertise.
Weather conditions and site logistics at the Southern Inlet Terminal posed no significant challenges, allowing our team to work efficiently. With the leadership of a Transport Manager and the support of our skilled personnel, the project was completed without any significant difficulties or delays, requiring only one operator.
Our strong relationship with the client, NYK, and the availability of our own reliable equipment were key factors in securing this project. Our established connection with the client underscored the trust and collaboration that Sarens brings to every project. Matthias Auch, European Project Cargo Coordinator at NYK Line, expressed his satisfaction with our execution, stating, "That's why I love my job - 1000 Thanks for the help!"
The NYK rental project in Zeebrugge exemplifies Sarens' commitment to excellence and client satisfaction. Our ability to handle complex heavy lifting and transport projects, even under challenging conditions, underscores the importance of expertise and reliable equipment in our field. This project not only reinforced our strong relationship with NYK but also highlighted our dedication to delivering exceptional results.
