Since September 2020, Sarens has been working with ATD for the deconstruction of EDF’s coal-fired power station in Vitry-sur-Seine. The plant is located on the banks of river Seine, five kilometers upstream from Paris, in the Ardoines district of the town of Vitry-sur-Seine. The plant closed in 2015and its deconstruction began in 2018.

Sarens' role in the operation included the demolition and lifting of air heater units 1 and 2 along with the C7 conveyor unit of the plant. For this, the team used the CC2800-1 crawler crane. The crane was mobilised to the site by trucks in 8 days. Due to the low ground bearing capacity at the site azobe mats were used to minimize the ground pressure.

Thanks to its skilled and dedicated employees, Sarens was able to complete the lifts in 8 weeks. The maximum weight lifted was 200T and the maximum height being 35m.

Sarens is pleased to be a part of this project and proud of its team for successful completion of the project!
