Now in its seventh year, the Heavy Lift Awards returned to London to celebrate the achievements of the project cargo supply chain. Organised by Heavy Lift & Project Forwarding International (HLPFI), the event took place on October 22, 2025, at the Royal Lancaster Hotel. Heavy Lift Awards is the premier industry event, honouring companies delivering innovation, precision, and leadership across engineering, safety, and training disciplines.
Sarens emerged as a double winner, taking home awards for Excellence in Engineering and Safety and Training, further strengthening its reputation as one of the world’s leading engineered heavy lifting and transport solution providers.
Excellence in Engineering – Emile Hammerl Bridge Replacement, Luxembourg
Sarens earned the Excellence in Engineering Award for its groundbreaking work on the Emile Hammerl Bridge Replacement in Luxembourg. The project showcased Sarens’ engineering ingenuity through the debut of its custom-developed CS250 tilting system - an innovation that enabled the precise installation of a 1.000-tonne curved Bowstring bridge over active railway lines without removing overhead catenaries. The project demonstrated exceptional technical coordination, load management, and space optimisation in a highly confined environment. Through advanced hydraulic control, real-time telemetry, and seamless collaboration, Sarens delivered a first-of-its-kind engineering solution that set new benchmarks in precision bridge lifting and installation under live rail conditions.
Safety and Training Award – Prevention at Sarens (P@S)
Sarens’ Prevention at Sarens (P@S) system was recognised with the Safety and Training Award for redefining workplace safety and professional development across its global operations. The fully integrated SHEQ platform combines real-time visibility, automated reporting, and e-learning to empower proactive risk management and consistent training. With its global rollout, P@S has transformed safety culture across Sarens’ workforce, ensuring instant incident tracking, live dashboards, and comprehensive onboarding within 24 hours. The programme exemplifies Sarens’ belief that safety is not just a process - but a mindset.
Commenting on the win, Wim Sarens, CEO, Sarens, said “These awards celebrate the spirit of innovation and teamwork that defines Sarens. Our people continue to push boundaries in engineering and safety, setting new standards for the global heavy lifting industry.”
