Sarens will be heading into 2025 with a sweeping new project to look forward to: the nationwide refurbishment of Britain's Co-op stores. Co-op boasts approximately 2,400 stores across the country, and is the nation's seventh-largest supermarket chain.

Sarens will be supporting their comprehensive refurbishment work by providing expertise and equipment across several store locations, working closely with client Technical Retail Services LTD to do so. The refurbishment project aims to enhance the overall shopping experience with an updated look and new features like cash withdrawal dispensers and plastic recycling receptacles, while supporting Co-op's commitment to sharing profits with its members.

With stores across the country, each individual refurbishment will bring different demands and challenges. Sarens will provide the right equipment for each job, lift a variety of materials at each renovation site, and relocate cranes and equipment between sites as needed. The team will deploy a variety of cranes as well as skates and jacks to lift loads ranging from 50 to 500 tonnes. A technical team of 4-10 people will be involved in each project.

This newest engagement underscores Sarens' ability to stay agile, up-to-date, and ready to help clients achieve their vision. From deploying the largest land-based crane in the world for lifts at the Hinkley Point C power station to recent civil engineering work for the Thames Tideway Tunnel project, Sarens has a proud record of achieving remarkable feats for clients across the nation and the world. We are pleased that our client has entrusted us with work on this important and sweeping store refurbishment project, and look forward to a successful series of operations!
