The International Cranes and Specialized Transport magazine released the IC50 rankings of the world's largest crane-owning companies for 2021. Companies are ranked by their IC Index, calculated as the total maximum load moment rating, in tonne-metres, of all cranes in a fleet.

The total value of IC Index for 2021 for 216 companies is 31,903,004 points, 8.99 percent higher than 2020 despite the impact of Covid-19 on the economies worldwide.

Sarens recorded an IC Index of 2,782,093. According to International Cranes and Specialized Transport magazine, “The gap between the top two companies in 2020 was 1,163,843 points while this year it is 785,011.” Sarens has closed the gap between the first and second position by an impressive 33%.

In 2020 Sarens added the electric giant crane in its fleet – the SGC-90. An environmentally-friendly electric ring crane nicknamed “Little Celeste.” Developed in response to market demand for heavy lift cranes with capacities greater than 80.000 TM, it is already slated for projects in 2021.

Wim Sarens, CEO says, “2020 was an exceptional year. It challenged us to rapidly and effectively respond to the emerging Covid-19 reality, continue making improvements to SHEQ, and implement strategic choices that have put Sarens in a stronger competitive position despite global uncertainty.” He adds, “We have further strengthened our fleet by adding the SGC-90, the giant electric crane and developed the CS350 climbing system, which combines fast operation with bottom-feeding jacking elements.”

We congratulate all our employees and stakeholders for their contribution and continued trust in us.
