With decades of experience at our backs, Sarens has mastered the art and science of complex lifting operations, always deeply rooted in the conviction that there is no project too heavy or too high. Most recently, we were in Verdal, Norway, loading out the new production and wellhead platform (PWP) jacket destined for the Valhall field in the North Sea, where Aker BP is the operator.
Through most of May 2025, Sarens worked closely with our client, Aker Solutions, to load out the 11.500 tonne PWP jacket, including grillage. The jacket measured 118,3 x 78,3 x 51,9 metres.
To lift and load the exceptionally heavy PWP jacket onto the barge, Sarens first brought in approximately 55 truckloads of equipment. With everything in place, the 8-person on-site team, including a female SPMT operator, got to work, deploying 354 axle lines SPMTs and ballasting systems for the operation. The crew successfully completed the load-out with Sarens' signature attention to safety and smooth operations.
Sarens Norway is proud to have partnered with Aker Solutions for many years, working on everything from large load outs to jacking with CS5000 systems and lifting with SMLT and strand jack configurations. This time around, Sarens was selected to support the Valhall project because of our extensive technical expertise, experience, and competitive pricing.
We congratulate everyone involved in this phase of the project for a job well done–and look forward to the next load-outs later this year and in early 2026!
