Sarens successfully completed the load-out of five modules for the FPSO P-79 at the Estaleiro EBR (EBR Shipyard) in São José do Norte, Brazil. This project, undertaken for Saipem, showcased Sarens’ ability to respond rapidly and execute under pressure, meeting tight timelines and logistical complexities.

Following a request from the client on 15 March 2024, Sarens was called upon to provide full support and have equipment ready in Brazil by the end of July 2024. A technical and commercial proposal was issued on 27 March and agreed upon by 3 April 2024. The ship carrying the first equipment sailed on 24 June 2024, and Sarens was on site as scheduled by 1 August 2024.

This exceptionally tight timeline posed a serious logistical challenge. The remote location of the shipyard, accessible only by boat and ferry, added to the complexity of the operation. Additionally, the team had to contend with windy, rainy, and cold weather conditions.

Sarens deployed 136 axle lines of SPMTs (Scheuerle), 08 PPUs, and 20 load cells for the project. This equipment was chosen for its manoeuvrability and heavy transport capacity, ensuring the modules, weighing between 1.400T and 4.000T, were transported safely and effectively. The SPMTs remained at the job site for 45 days.

The project saw contributions from various teams, including Sales, Engineering, Contract Management, and the on-site project team. Their close coordination and shared expertise were crucial in enabling rapid mobilisation and flawless execution under pressure.

Sarens was selected thanks to its ability to mobilise quickly across continents, with equipment and resources coming from Norway, the UK, and Belgium. The successful outcome highlights Sarens’ readiness, responsiveness, and commitment to technical excellence.

The incredibly rapid and efficient delivery of this operation reinforces Sarens’ reputation for precision, speed, and reliability in supporting major infrastructure developments.
