Sarens recently organised Jobdays at the headquarters in Belgium. The event was attended by around 41 participants interested in building their career in the heavy lift and specialised transport industry. The focus is to encourage people who have no or little prior experience in heavy lifting to grow as heavy lifting professionals.
Sarens is the global leader and reference in crane rental services, heavy lifting, and engineered transport. Our people - engineers, project managers, office, and field staff lead the heavy rigging and specialised transport industry in technical excellence, innovation, safety, and professionalism. We invest tremendous resources in identifying exceptional people and developing their skills with continuous education and certifications – and we proudly create an environment that fosters their growth as leaders.
According to our Group Talent Manager, Pieter Van den Eynde, “Job days are meant to give the participants an insight into the heavy lift and specialized transport world, who are interested but not familiar with the industry.” He adds, “During our Jobdays we offer them an opportunity to try out our impressive equipment.”
During the Jobdays the 41 people were introduced to Sarens’ equipment including cranes, SPMTs, and their operating principles briefly. They were also given an overview about the engineering tools and software used by our engineering teams which helps Sarens perform precise calculations while performing lifts and moves.
For Sarens, safety is paramount. We aim to provide a safe and healthy working environment for our employees, contractors and visitors. In fact, our goal is to have zero work accidents and incidents. The participants were also briefed about the safe practices at Sarens.
All of them had a good learning experience and according to Pieter the Jobdays received a very positive response. Several of them have already received the proposal to join Sarens and have signed their contract with Sarens within 10 days.
