Samoco, a Belgian-based Sarens subsidiary, is a full-service assembly company with multidisciplinary expertise. It provides a wide range of services to companies in need of technical expertise in assembly, disassembly, maintenance and shutdowns.
Samoco NV was indicated as the winner of Covestro's Contractor Safety Award 2018. The tender contractors are scored during the year on a diverse set of safety topics.
2018 was the first year that Samocoparticipated in the awards and was awarded as the most safe contractor to work with. Our clean infrastructure on the contractor yard, the good operational organization, the structured communication measures, the excellent relations with SHEQ Covestro, and the safe and qualitative performance of our people made us win the award.
The award ceremony was held at the Covestro site in Antwerp. The event was attended by Peter Verspreet, Site Supervisor Samoco at Covestro, Arne Depuydt, General Manager, Peter Buyls, Sales & Operations Manager, Bart De Crée, SHEQ Manager, and Koen Bordeaud'huy, SHEQ Coordinator.
The award was accompanied by a check of 2500 Euros, which will be spent on a safety initiative for the Samoco workforce on the site of Covestro.
SHEQ Manager, Bart De Crée says, "We are proud of this achevemnet and congratulate and thank all our colleagues who've contributed to win this magnificent prize!"
Peter Buyls, Sales & Operations Manager, Samoco rightly puts it as, "You cannot impose safety upon your people; you can only make them aware of the dangers. Safety is an attitude. You always need to point your co-workers to their responsibility and the safety of their team."
