Sarens Orders 33 Demag Cranes from Terex

Two Sarens entities place large order with Terex Cranes

Thirty-three additional Demag® cranes are on their way to Sarens, thanks to a recent order placed with Terex. Two entities, Sarens Group in Belgium and its Middle East division, Sarens Nass Middle East (SNME), placed separate orders for the cranes.

Sarens Group will receive 18 Demag all terrain cranes while SNME will get 15 new Demag AC 130-5 cranes, which are the most compact units in the 130t capacity class. Sarens already boasts a large fleet of more than 1,500 machines, including about 500 Terex and Demag cranes, and prefers to partner with Terex to maintain standardisation.

Besides the operational cost-efficiency of the Demag cranes, Sarens believes that the new 5-axle cranes provide a good mix of manoeuvrability, boom length, and capacity. The worldwide availability of spare parts for the cranes is also an advantage.

"SNME is proud to have secured various new contracts in the Middle East," says Jan L. Sarens, Group Equipment Trade Manager for Sarens Group. "In order to execute these at the high level of quality that our customers expect, SNME has chosen to purchase the AC130-5, a crane that combines boom length with capacity, reliability and cost-efficient operations."

"This will improve the overall fleet profile and the quality of service, thanks to minimal breakdowns and higher capacity in terms of boom reach and tonnage," says Masroor Saeed Malik, Regional Director, Middle East. "These cranes are very suitable for green field projects as well as infrastructure assignments."

SNME, established in 2002 as a joint venture between Belgium-based Sarens Group and Bahrain-based Nass Group, has grown from a couple of cranes to a professional organisation with 370 mobile and crawler cranes used across GCC countries, namely Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates. Its cranes, which can lift from 50t to 750t, have a combined tonnage capacity of about 50,000 tons.

This order will help the group expand their presence in the region. "The Sarens and SNME order combined is among the largest telescopic crane orders we've placed," says Jan L. Sarens.

"The name Demag has always stood for quality in our Group," says Ludo Sarens, President of Sarens. "Terex Cranes understands our needs and can provide tailored solutions when and where necessary."

"Sarens has been an outstanding customer and valued partner for product development for several decades," says Terex Cranes President Steve Filipov. "We are proud to serve them and have them working alongside our dedicated team."
