In 2008 Sarens built the first offshore windfarm of 5MW turbines
in the world: the Thornton Bank I (Ostend, Belgium), with 6 Repower
5M turbines mounted on Gravity Based Foundations of 3000 tonnes
each! We performed all on- and offshore logistics including on- and
offshore cranes, SPMT's, Sarens Multi Lift Tower, etc. Since that
first project Sarens created a dedicated department specialized in
offshore windfarms.

Onshore Logistics for Offshore Projects
Since the growing importance of onshore logistics for offshore
windfarm projects Sarens can offer you dedicated solutions. Main
target is to guarantee uninterrupted supply chain logistics for
just-in-time delivery to the offshore installation equipment.
This includes:
- unloading and reloading of extremely heavy foundation and wind turbine generator parts
- SPMT transport to intermediate stock
- logistic management, JIT delivery to offshore site
- full option scope including project management and HSEW
- supply of all extras: tackle, spreader beams, support stools, sea fastening, etc.
