May 2018: Sarens recently completed the installation of the 167MT Cold Box and 82MT Storage Tank as part of the expansion project of the Sriperumbudur industrial park for Sterling and Wilson in SIPCOT Industrial Area, Tamilnadu.
Sarens seven member crew carried out the installation of the cold box having a height of around 48m. For the operation, the team deployed:
- CC2800-1 in SSL-66m configuration
- SCX2500 in HH-66m configuration
Both the cranes were transported from Chennai to the job site and took 2 days to set-up. The space constraint made the set-up of the crane challenging and the continuous rains further added to the challenge.
The cold box was lifted at a working radius of 17m and by crawling the tailing crane SCX2500-250T the cold box was positioned vertically. The team took around half an hour for safely tailing and placing the load on foundation. CC2800-1 was specifically selected for the job as it is user friendly and capable of smoothly performing heavy lifts in a constrained space.
"Thanks to our highly trained and experienced operational team, we transported & built up the crane on time as well as executed the job in a safe manner with "zero" near misses and "zero" incidents reported", remarks Operations Manager, India, Deepak Chand Sharma.
