Sarens owns one of the largest and most diverse fleet worldwide. To meet the maintenance needs of the growing and modernizing fleet of Sarens, a new maintenance building, Hall X has been inaugurated at our Headquarters in Wolvertem. A reception was held during the inauguration having official addresses from the managament, followed by snacks.

The new building is designed to execute maintenance work on Sarens Project equipment including  SPMT's, strand jacks, ballasting pumps, power packs, etc. The building is spread across an area of 1500 sqm. There are five gates, each opening to a work area equipped with required oil supply units through a hose reel. Hydraulic oil, engine oil, coolant as well as grease is available on the hose reel.

The building has three overhead cranes with a lifting capacity of 2x6.3T each. There are separate rooms for performing electronical jobs and storing load cells from 50 to 500T. The first floor has five office spaces designated for the staff and one room for the equipment related books and other literature. A big mess room and changing rooms for both men and woman are also available with lockers, toilet and showers. The electrical boxes are fitted in different locations throughout the building which supply plugs ranging from 220V to 125A 380V, where equipment can be easily connected for testing purposes.

An additional 150 sqm store building is dedicated for storing the spare parts. The spare parts are arranged methodically and all spare parts will be registered so that stock movements can be followed up to improve our service level.

The building is designed and constructed adhering to the high standards of Safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ). The building has complete LED lighting to reduce the carbon footprint and all the lights are managed by movement detectors. The heating from the building is also the most energy saving and is realized by floor heating in the office as well in the workshop.

"Hall X is  a millstone and a big step towards becoming the reference and we are proud to work in such a facility", says Sarens Fleet Maintenance Manager, Kristof Van Gysel.
