July 2019: The International Cranes and Specialized Transport magazine released the IC50 rankings of the world's largest crane-owning companies for 2019. Companies are ranked by their IC Index, calculated as the total maximum load moment rating, in tonne-metres, of all cranes in a fleet. This year, a total of 201 companies were included in the rankings.
Sarens made major investment in capacity building and increasing the number of depots to serve the heavy lift and specialised transport industry. Sarens has added 375.581 tonne-metres of capability to its fleet since last year with the launch of our mighty crane - the SGC 250.
The SGC 250 has a lifting capacity of 5000T. One of the most unique features of SGC-250 is it's the ability to relocate the fully-rigged crane on site from one lifting position to another. This is not only unique to Sarens, but to the entire global crane industry. The crane has two sets of wheels: one for slewing 360° and one for travelling. The second set is hydraulically retractable and is pushed out whenever the crane needs to travel.

The International Cranes and Specialized Transport magazine mentions, "Never has it been so close to a change at the top of the table. The gap between the fleet capability of the number one and two companies has been steadily narrowing in recent years. Between last year and 2019, however, it has closed massively. In line with other examples of changing times and uncertainty, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if there was a change at the top in the 2020."
